The Government of Gujarat today announced a first of its kind summit dedicated to Start-ups - Vibrant Gujarat Startup Summit, Bureaucracy Today has learnt.
While the key objective of the summit is to attract the brightest entrepreneurial minds from across the nation to ideate, showcase innovation and help them shape their ideas for the development of the State & the Nation, the summit also aim to develop a startup ecosystem to compete with the best in the world and create a lasting network of relationships for all the stakeholders of the ecosystem.
Huge participation is expected from experts of various domains, including Incubators, Entrepreneurs, Innovators, Venture Capitalists, Business Model Creators, Consultants, Policy Makers, Academicians, Support Groups, Business Coaches, Business, Practitioners, Mentors and officials from the Department of Government of Gujarat.
Addressing the media, Arvind Agarwal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Industries & Mines Department said, “This summit is for everyone who is interested in learning how to build and grow a business from the ground up. Whether they are still in stealth mode, signed their first customer, or just have an innovative idea for a new business, this is the event to meet and interact with entrepreneurs, small-business owners, accelerators, VCs, and everyone who share the passion and drive for building customer and community focussed companies. We are also giving an opportunity to these Start-ups to find innovative solutions to developmental issues of the state and the country through Vibrant Gujarat Startup Challenge.”
Another highlight of the summit will be the national level VG Startup Challenge 2016 organized by icreate. Its objective will be to find innovative, technology based and commercially viable solutions to key developmental issues of the state and the nation. The challenge will provide an excellent opportunity and a platform for startups, innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs, nationally as well as internationally, to develop affordable and sustainable solutions that improve and dramatically change the developing landscape of the country. For the inaugural year, there will be two key themes of the challenge - Water and Healthcare & Nutrition.

The summit which is scheduled to be held on October 21 and 22 October, 2016 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Gujarat Anandiben Patel and will be organized by the Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb) and Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). The National Partner for the event is The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and knowledge partner is The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI).
The event will host more than 3500 delegates attending 20+ power packed sessions with more than 50 National & International speakers. Other attractions at the summit will include 5000+ B2B & B2G Meetings, Exhibitions, pre-event Road shows, VC Speed Dating, National Start up Grand Challenge, Business Pitches and Awards.
