In a move to curb the menace of spurious parts, Hero MotoCorp Limited, India’s global manufacturer of two-wheeler, has raids at 22 establishments to seize over 2,75,000 spurious spare parts and counterfeit label.
The HMCL has been conducting a series of raids since April 2016 under the banner "Fight Fake, Stay Safe" against the manufacturers and traders of spurious parts in the past few months, Bureaucracy Today has learnt.
These raids were carried out under the supervision of local police/ EOW and special investigation agencies across New Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Bangalore, Ludhiana, Ahmednagar and Kolkata.
In the most recent raid carried out at two warehouses located in Karol Bagh in New Delhi, over 36,000 counterfeit spare parts and packaging materials were seized.
Accordingly an FIR has been lodge at Karol Bagh Police Station, and both the owners were arrested in violations to Trademark laws.
