Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has slammed the Public Works Department Secretary Ashwani Kumar for alleged dereliction of duty.
In a letter to Chief Secretary MM Kutty, the Chief Minister said Kumar did not ensure desilting of drains despite directions.
“Received letters from the Mayors of east and north municipal bodies. Both have complained about the poor condition of the PWD drains...I am told that barring accompanying the PWD Minister and some Petition Committee members, he [PWD Secretary] has not visited any drain. It is sad that he openly and brazenly violates the directions of the CM himself,” the Chief Minister wrote.
Kejriwal directed the Chief Secretary to “personally ensure” that Kumar visits “all the drains” listed by the East and North Delhi Mayors by Sunday to ensure their desilting.
