10.7% FTAs growth in April, 2017

India has witnessed 23.5 per cent increase in the number of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) on e-Tourist Visa in the month of April 2017 as compared to 10.7 per cent in April 2016, the report by Ministry of Tourism says.

The report prepared on the basis of Nationality-wise, Port-wise data received from Bureau of Immigration (BOI), states that 7.40 lakh FTAs visited Indian in April 2017 as compared to 5.99 lakh in April 2016 and 5.42 lakh in April, 2015, Bureaucracy Today has learnt.

Out of top-5 countries, Bangladesh has topped the percentage share of FTAs in India with 23.07 per cent followed by USA with 10.65 per cent, UK with 10.51 per cent, Germany with 3.28 per cent, and Australia with 3.15 percent.

Similarly, Delhi Airport has scored the highest percentage share of FTAs in India during April 2017 among the top-5 ports followed by Mumbai Airport with 15.48 per cent, Haridaspur Land checkpost with 12.88 per cent, Chennai Airport with 6.56 per cent, Bengaluru Airport with 5.67 per cent and Kolkata Airport with 5.01 per cent.
