Nickel prices recovered at the non-ferrous metal market today due to stockists' buying amid fresh demand from alloy industries. On the other hand, copper prices rebounded owing to renewed demand from the industrial users. While, tin and zinc eased due to lower demand from alloy industries.
Nickel rose by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,050 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,030. Yesterday, copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper billets edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 481, Rs 476 and Rs 509 as against Rs 479, Rs 474 and Rs 507, respectively.
Copper armature, copper utensils, copper sheet cuttings inched up to Rs 469, Rs 443 and Rs 467 per kg, respectively. However, tin prices declined by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,450 as compared to Rs 1,455 and zinc softened by a rupee per kg to Rs 236.
