A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and Paradip Port Trust (PPT), for import of crude oil from the Paradip Port.
The agreement allows utilising the IOCL’s spare capacity of existing SPMs (single point moorings) at Paradip, Bureaucracy Today has learnt.
As per the MoU signed, the PPT would be extending land space for installation of crude storage tanks, a pump house and a township at Paradip.
IndianOil is having a state of the art crude oil unloading system through Single Point Mooring System at PPT to meet crude oil requirements of its refineries at Paradip, Haldia, Barauini and Bongaigaon.
Meanwhile, the NRL has expressed their interest to explore the possibility of utilizing the existing SPM System of IOCL for import of crude oil for the proposed expansion of its refinery at Numaligarh.
