ITI posts 6-yr high rev at Rs 1621cr
Public sector telecom equipment firm Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) has clocked a consolidated revenue of Rs 1621 crore for the year 2016-17, its highest revenue in the last six years and a 30 per cent increase over the last year.
The surge in revenues shows the revival mode of the company which has been made possible due to undertaking cost – cutting measures and diversifying into new business activities, Bureaucracy Today has learnt. .
Through competitive bidding, ITI CMD S Gopu said ITI has bagged orders from BSNL, BBNL. It is in the process of getting order from RailTel for GPON project for the Government flagship project BharatNet which is providing broadband facilities to over 2.5 lakh gram panchayats in Indian villages.
The company is also expecting major orders from ASCON from Defence Ministry and from BSNL for its North Eastern mobile (GSM) connectivity project.
With the support of Government of India, we are confident of reaching greater heights in the coming years, Gopu said.
