The workshop, first of its kind in Visakhapatnam, was aimed at exchanging views on the betterment of women and girl children around the public sector units located in Visakhapatnam on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
KC Das, Director (Personnel), RINL-VSP, was the chief guest. RP Srivatsav, Executive Director (Corporate Services), VSP, was the guest of honour. KC Das underscored the need to promote gender equality and women empowerment and to reduce infant mortality in society for the betterment of women and girl children. He called for a radical change in the mindset of women for achieving success while facing challenges and opined that women should give impetus to increasing the literacy rate for sustainable development. He hoped that the workshop would come out with useful deliberations for socio-economic development of women in society.
He said that women should get equal opportunities on a par with men. Modern women are competent. They are facing challenges and coming out with success. They are playing a vital role in community development. The participants were full of praise for the WIPS and the VMS for conducting the workshop.
