BSNL has cut down the tariffs of its DSPT (Digital Satellite Phone Terminals) service by 29% for the security agencies to offer unlimited internet access at 64 kbps from Rs 9,999 a month to Rs 7,099 under a plan ‘DSPT UL 7099’.
The PSU had received several requests from various security agencies under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to reduce the rate of unlimited internet access facility at 64Kbps through DSPT from the prevailing Rs 9,999 per month with applicable service tax to an affordable price. Now the PSU has reduced the tariffs of DSPT services because DSPT is the only mode of communication for the troop deployed in border areas, different terrain areas and remotest places on Pan India basis, the PSU said in a statement.
BSNL has launched DSPT unlimited internet access facility at 64Kbps to various security agencies at Rs 7,099/ (applicable service tax) under DSPT plan ‘DSPT UL 7099’, it said which is providing unlimited internet facility through DSPT at such cheaper rate to the nation serving security agencies, stated the PSU.
Lack of adequate communication and internet links for personnel deployed in inaccessible areas or Border Out Posts , terrain areas and remotest places was one of the main reason that they remain cut-off from their families and other channels of informations and communications. With this reduction of tariffs now, this problem can be taken care of.
