In an effort to resurrect its wireline service, state run BSNL has halved the landline rental of one of its plans to Rs 49 per month from Rs 99 for a period of six months with the facility of unlimited calling to other networks on Sunday and night hours of normal days.
"To attract new customers to our wireline services, BSNL has launched a very cost effective and affordable promotional landline voice plan 'Experience LL 49'," the PSU said in a statement.
Under this plan, a fixed monthly charge of Rs. 49 is applicable for the first six months and after that, the customer shall be charged as per the general plan of the respective area.
From all such new Landline connections, customers can make unlimited calls to all operators’ networks on all Sundays (24 hours) and during Night hours (From 9 P.M. to 7 A.M.) without any additional cost. Moreover, with this landline plan, one BSNL prepaid SIM card is also being provided free of cost.
NK Gupta Director (CFA) BSNL Board told that BSNL is the only operator who is offering such a very low cost landline voice plan in the country. The PSU also which has a large presence in rural areas has a total 34673 landline exchanges out of which 25976 are in rural areas.
