BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday alleged that Congress President Rahul Gandhi was insulting the army personnel by organizing a 2016 surgical strike in the LoC to win the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. He said that today the army personnel have developed a sense of pride that their government is behind them. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi took revenge for the martyrs of the army, Rahul Gandhi is saying that a surgical attack was organized to win the Uttar Pradesh elections. You insult the martyrs of the country, you do not show any courage Shah said, in a public meeting, the town of Phalodi in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. While addressing a gathering in Udaipur, Rajasthan, voting on Saturday, Rahul Gandhi had alleged that BJP was contesting in Uttar Pradesh as the surgical strike became public.
He also told the gathering, "During the Narendra Modi government, during the Manmohan Singh government, surgical strikes were organized three times. Do you know about it? Modi actually arrived in the domain of the Army and in a political asset, Shaped strike." Attacking Congress, Shah said, "On one hand there is a group of patriots under the leadership of Narendra Modi and on the other side there is a party in which there are no leaders, policies and principles." He also excavated in Gandhi's party to declare his chief ministerial candidate, and wondered how "army" can win, which is not capable of finalizing his leader.
