The five day long 22nd National Youth Festival, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the State Government of Uttar Pradesh, is to begin from January 12, 2018 and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Gautam Budhha University in Greater Noida. Commencing on the birth anniversary of the youth icon of India, Swami Vivekananda, the NYF’s inaugural function will be co-chaired by Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Union Minister for State of Youth Affairs. Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister for Culture, has been invited as the guest of honour.
Based on the theme of “Sankalp Se Siddhi”, the NYF will provide a platform to bring the youth together giving opportunity to showcase their talents in various activities. The NYF by creating a Mini-India provides for an arena for youth interaction creating “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”, a blend of diverse socio-cultural milieu. The highlights include an expected participation of almost 5000 volunteers from National Service Scheme and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, cultural performances by both local and renowned artists and the presentation of the National Youth Award during the opening ceremony.
