Launch of New Link on DMRC’s Magenta Line

Unveiling a plaque at Botanical Garden Metro Station, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inaugurated a new link connecting Botanical Garden in Noida with Kalkaji Mandir in South Delhi, on the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s Magenta Line yesterday.

The Prime Minister conveyed many a thoughts during his address at the inauguration. He greeted the audience on the occasion of Christmas, spoke about the added advantage of connectivity, his dream of an India with reduced petrol imports and emphasized on the need of state-of-the-art mass transit systems to achieve these goals. He also said that governance cannot happen when the dominant thought process begins at “Mera Kya and ends at “Mujhe Kya”. The Union Government’s decisions are based on national interests and not political gains, he added.

He also talked about the work being done to improve railway infrastructure, expanding the road network, and making strides in the renewable energy sector. He described former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the 'Bharat Marg Vidhata,' and said he has shown us the way towards development.
