Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave passed away today in Delhi following a cardiac arrest.
He was 60.
Dave was appointed as the Minister of State (Independent charge) of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change in the Narendra Modi government on July 5, 2016.
At about 7:30 AM, Dave's staff tried to wake him up but he did not respond. He was then taken to AIIMS where doctors declared him dead at 9:45 AM.
"The minister was brought to AIIMS at around 9 am in the stage of cardiac arrest. All possible measures were taken immediately at AIIMS but he could not survive and declared dead at 9:45 am," a statement issued by the premier medical institute said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Science and Technology, Harsh Vardhan, has been assigned additional charge of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
