A young IAS officer identified as Anurag Tewari was found dead today under mysterious circumstances in Lucknow.
35-year-old Tiwari, IAS (KN:07), was a native of Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district and had recently discharged his duty as the District Commissioner of Bidar in Karnataka, an official told Bureaucracy Today.
His body was found near a guest house in Hazratganj area of Lucknow. There were injuries in the body. A detailed autopsy report is awaited.
Tiwari, who held a degree in Electrical Engineering from Lucknow University, had served as Assistant Commissioner of Madhugiri, Deputy Commissioner of Kodagu and Deputy Secretary (Finance) in Bengaluru.
He was in the news in 2015 following his tiff with Karnataka Minister Umashree over farmers’ protest in Bidar.
