CBI probes Chandigarh firm for cheating PNB

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case of alleged fraud under various sections against a Chandigarh based private firm and its three directors on a complaint from Punjab National Bank (PNB).
An alleged loss of Rs. 1301 crore was caused to the PNB.

It was alleged that Kudos Chemie Ltd, Chandigarh got discounted forged & fabricated export bills and fraudulently siphoned off the disbursed bank funds. These discounted export bills remained unpaid and thus caused loss to the bank.

The CBI also conducted raids in Chandigarh and Mohali area in connection with the case which led to recovery of incriminating documents and electronic evidences, Bureaucracy Today has learnt.
