The Delhi High Court comprising of a bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar has directed a group of blind students to shift to a community centre as the Delhi Development Authority had demolished their hostel and they were living in a tent nearby saying that they were illegally occupying government land.
“This is not expected when we were giving them facilities. Our orders will not be frustrated like this. We do not approve of this. Please shift to the community centre. If they do not move, we will ensure physical removal,” the bench said, adding that “we have not left any poor or disabled person out on a limb.”
The HC has given them time till January 24, 2018, to shift to the community centre.
