India & Chile sign Int'l Solar Alliance Agreement

Fidel Espinoza, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile, along with a parliamentary delegation from his country, called on the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan yesterday.

President Kovind welcomed the delegation with warm regards and an agreement to join the International Solar Alliance was signed between the two countries in order to strengthen both the countries collective efforts towards addressing the challenges related to climate change.  Looking forward towards better economic relations, President Kovind said that he hopes the Expanded India-Chile Preferential Trade Agreement will give a boost to their bilateral trade. He also acknowledged the great opportunity for both India and Chile to benefit from each other's expertise in the fields of mining, renewable energy, services, science, technology, space and defence.
