The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) summoned Syed Haider, Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan yesterday to adhere to the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding for maintaining peace and tranquillity along the Line of Control (LOC) and the International Border. The MEA conveyed its concerns regarding the continued ceasefire violations and accused the Pakistani troops for targeting civilians.
Recently, Pakistani troops killed three civilians and injured nine others in Hiranagar, Samba, Ramgarh, R S Pura and Arnia sectors. Till date, more than 100 such violations have been recorded on the LOC and the International Border.
