Cabinet Approves MoU with Canada

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) providing a mechanism with an aim to foster scientific cooperation between Research and Development (R&D) and academic institutions of India and Canada has been approved by the Union Cabinet today.

The features underlined in the said MoU include an innovative model of R&D cooperation implemented under the MoU between the Department of Science and Technology and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, Canada and providing support to the India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnership to Accelerate Community Transformation and Sustainability (IC-IMPACTS) programme in order to promote India-Canada multidisciplinary research partnerships. Working in the areas of safe and sustainable infrastructure and integrated water management, the MoU looks forward towards developing institutional networking and supporting the establishment of connections between scientific organizations, scientists and specialists in India and Canada.
