Come May 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is inaugurating the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB), to be held at Mahatma Mandir convention centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
This is for the first time India is hosting the AfDB Annual Meeting, which is being attended by over 3000 delegates from across 81 member countries, Bureaucracy today has learnt
While the Annual Meetings of the Bank would discuss issues the regional member countries are facing, India would seek to leverage this occasion to further deepen economic cooperation with the African countries through various other events that have been planned.
India is organizing an Africa India Cooperation Event in partnership with CII to focus on Agriculture, Healthcare, e-Governance, Renewable energy, Skill development and education, Manufacturing, trade and investment sectors.
It is also organizing another exhibition with FICCI during the Annual Meetings of the Bank with an objective to showcase the capabilities of Indian companies in terms of technology, innovation, and start-ups, which could be relevant for African countries.
