Condemning recent several attacks against some member countries, including that in the Russian Federation, BRICS has called for consolidating international efforts to combat the global threat of terrorism, at the two-day meeting of BRICS special envoys in India recently.
Urging UN’s proactive role in countering terrorism, the Grouping stressed that counter-terrorism measures should be undertaken on the firm basis of international law under the aegis of the UN and its Security Council.
BRICS Counter-terrorism strategy should comply with the United Nations Global Counter-terrorism Strategy, the member states agreed.
The member states agreed BRICS would work out an integrated approach to address the issue of terrorism.
