A Festival of India is being organized in Ukraine from March to October, 2017.
The Festival will showcase various facets of Indian culture in different cities of Ukraine, namely, Kyiv, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Lviv, Ivano Frankivsk, Poltava and Ternopil. A number of events like Yoga Seminar through Ministry of Ayush, Mango Festival through APEDA, Indian films and documentaries through Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, participation of Indian artists in Ukrainian Fashion Week through Ministry of Textile, Think Tank Seminar by Indian Council of World Affairs and Screening of Movie ‘Gandhi’ on 2nd October, 2017 have been scheduled to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and create awareness about Indian culture.
Bureaucracy Today has learnt that there is great interest in Indian culture in Ukraine at the public level, covering various aspects such as dances, yoga, philosophy, Ayurveda and spirituality. There are more than 30 Ukrainian cultural associations/groups spread across the country, engaged in promoting Indian dances. An organization called “All Ukrainian Association of Indologists” is engaged in organizing seminars, exhibitions on different topics relating to India.
