China objects Dalai Lama’s proposed AP visit

The announcement of the Dalai Lama’s proposed visit to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh has evoked strong reactions from the China.

The Chinese official media has said that if the Dalai Lama visits Arunachal Pradesh it will be considered an act of hostility on the part of India. The MEA spokesman has said that consistent with New Delhi’s policy with regard to the Dalai Lama, it will not interfere with his itinerary as he is a religious figure and is treated as such by the Government and people of India. The government of India has no say in his travels within India.
