With an aim to convert green horticulture waste to fuel briquettes, Godrej Properties Limited has announced that the company has set up a waste management plant as part of the company's ambitious CSR goals and the Group's Good and Green program.
The said plant has been set up at the Municipal Corporation Greater Mumbai K West ward located in Jogeshwari West, Mumbai, on an area of 5,000 square feet. Funded by Godrej Properties and operated by Green Roots, the plant will divert 50 tons of green waste from landfill per day which will then be processed to produce briquettes.
Giving his statement on the matter, Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Chairman, Godrej Properties, said, "We are very pleased to partner with MCGM and Green Roots for this project. A commitment to sustainability is a key tenet of our company's vision and we believe this green waste management plant is a positive step in the direction of sustainable and environmentally conscious urban development."
