The 3rd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is going to be held on 25th and 26th June 2018 in Mumbai, India. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Indian government and the AIIB Secretariat in this regard to chalk out the responsibilities of the main stakeholders involved. The Signing Ceremony was hosted at the Ministry of Finance, North Block, New Delhi.
Subhash Chandra Garg, Secretary, DEA said that the very opportunity for India to be able to host the annual meeting is an achievement in itself and it is the right moment for India to showcase her strengths as an economy and introducing the board members to the immense potential for them to invest in infrastructural opportunities in India and Asia.
Danny Alexander, Vice President, Corporate Secretary, AIIB, said, “It is but appropriate that the Annual Meeting is being held in Mumbai, the financial capital of India. We are hoping that discussions in Mumbai will help AIIB to deepen our cooperation with India and to develop our approach for mobilizing more private sector capital for infrastructure in Asia.
The Annual Meeting will be attended by delegates from all 80 AIIB member countries, business leaders and members of civil society organizations among others.
