AIIB to invest $1 billion in India

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is expected to invest around $1 billion in various Indian Projects this year, as approved by the AIIB board. Apart from direct lending, the Beijing-based multilateral development bank is likely to invest $200 million through the National Infrastructure Investment Fund (NIIF) created by the central government.

It is to be noted that the bank is looking for a massive $5 billion investment in the Indian Projects next year. AIIB in which India is the second largest share holder after China would focus on clean energy and sustainable projects for investments, Bureaucracy Today reports.
