Reliance Jio for the last seven consecutive months has topped the 4G data speed chart and has done the same in July as well.
According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data, Jio has been recorded as the fastest 4G data speed provider in India in the month of July. According to TRAI's MySpeed app, Reliance Jio's 4G data speed for July has been recorded as 18.331 Mbps. Although topping the chat, Jio's data speed has slightly dropped down compared to last month.
TRAI collects and computes data download speed through its MySpeed application on a real-time basis.
As per the July TRAI data, after Jio comes Vodafone in the list of 4G data providers, followed by Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular.
Jio ‘s download speed of 18.331 mbps for the month of July is followed by Airtel at 9.266 mbps, Idea Cellular at 8.833 mbps and Vodafone India at 9.325 mbps.
July has probably been a disappointing month for the telecom world. The data speed of almost all the major telecom operators has dropped, apart from Airtel. Compared to last month, Vodafone's data speed has dropped drastically this month. In July, Vodafone had recorded a data speed of 11.078Mbps, while in July it recorded a data speed of 9.325Mbps.
Similar is the scenario for Idea Cellular as well. Last month Idea recorded a data speed of 9.464Mbps. While in July Idea records a 4G data speed of 8.833Mbps. The data speed all three telecom operators - Jio, Vodafone, Idea has dropped slightly.
While, on the other hand, Airtel's data speed sees a little growth. In July, Bharti Airtel's data speed was recorded as 8.916Mbps. Compared to last month Airtel's data speed has increased and has been recorded it to be 9.266Mbps.
Though no official estimate but some reports state mobile data consumption in India went up from 20 crore GB per month to over 150 crore GB per month in the last one year. Jio carries more than 100 crore GB data per month.
The company announced the launch of JioPhone on July 21, available free of cost with a deposit money of Rs 1,500.
